It turns out the Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter is pretty awesome. We learned that last year at Convention, when we earned some awards, including the Crescent Chapter award, which was given to the nine top chapters in the country. That sure is something to be proud of!

Last night, members of our executive committee met to plan what's going on with our chapter for the next year. We're doing a lot of the same stuff -- Kick-off Brunch at Gail's, Founders' Day at the house at Butler, Spa Day in January, dinners out, euchre, Lunchtime Ladies... But we're adding a few new things too.

Valerie has gone over to the Ronald McDonald House near Riley to serve dinner to the families who are in the house... What better way to support our philanthropy in a time when everyone's disposable income for giving is down? We'll be making a date to go help families whose lives have been turned upside-down by cancer and other children's illnesses and injuries by serving them a meal.

Also, keep your eye out for our new "wellness" activities. We'll be scheduling a few of them through the year, trying something new that might attract some of our members who might not be as interested in dinners out.

Lots of chapters ask how often we have "business meetings"... the answer is always, "We don't!" That might be what makes our chapter so fun, strong and vibrant. We just get together and have fun. We have young members, right out of college, all the way up to a 75-year member who was honored last Golden Circle Luncheon.

Won't you try to join us this upcoming year? You'll be glad you did!
